Hey! I’ve go a very special treat for all of you today. It occurred to me that I have never posted swatches of my favorite Zoya collection ever. The Smoke & Mirrors collection was released for Fall 2011. I posted swatches of the Smoke half, but never got around to the Mirrors part. Shame on me. I’ll have my comments about the formula at the end.
Neeka is a stunning purple with a subtle red shimmer and larger gold shimmer/glitter flecks. I’ve never seen a polish like it. Simply beautiful. Jem is a deep, red-toned purple with heavy purple and gold shimmer. This polish is gorgeous. Yara is a perfect olive green with bright gold glitter bits. I would never in my wildest dreams have thought I would call an olive green glamorous, but it is. And I don’t even like olive green. Marina is a slate blue metallic. There aren’t even words for how perfect this polish is. I tried to do nail art over it once, and I just couldn’t disrupt it. Too pretty. Tao is basically Marina, except without the blue. Flawless, except I was in a hurry and made the polish bubble. Bad me. Nimue is a muted purple with a silver shimmer, very similar in finish to Marina and Tao. This is such a perfect combination of sexy, subtle and classy. If you’re looking for a “neutral” that isn’t nude, this is a great option.
The formula on every one of these polishes is perfection in two coats. None were too runny or too thick. No pooling in my cuticles or streaking on application.
