I had so much fun last week, celebrating what has become known as “Fish Egg Friday.” It was awesome to see bloggers come together as a community to take a stand. I also had (a little too much) fun on my trip to Michael’s this week, where I found even more beads. There was a whole collection in bright, summery shades that I couldn’t resist, and I felt that Fish Egg Friday was a worthy enough cause for my $6.99 (for six colors!).
It was really tough to decide which to wear, but I really liked the sparkle in last week’s mani, so I decided to go about as sparkly as one can go. I used Ivanka, from Zoya’s Sparkle Collection and matching beads in Capri.
This whole microbead thing is starting to grow on me. My first not-caviar manicure lasted an easy three days before the beads started dropping, and the texture is fun. Plus, you get to add another layer to your polish look.
I also learned a tip this week: When pouring your beads over the nail(s), pour them over a little paper Dixie cup. It collects the beads easily, and you can pour them into your hand to apply to another nail, or back into the container for another day.
A lot of other bloggers had Kaviar Manicures posted last week in honor of the ridiculousness, and several ladies were kind enough to compile lists. I got this one from Jen at The PolishAholic (Thanks, Jen!), if you’d like to check out some other looks:
